which has undoubtedly influenced the subject content and colour pallet of her paintings.
Jane Lion returned to England in the late 60's and studied at St Martin's School of Art, London. Later she worked with consultants as an Art Therapist at Holloway Sanatorium. Jane has always worked as a professional artist and has exhibited in art galleries in the South of England and had several solo exhibitions.
Talking about her art work Jane Lion says: "Light and weather influence whether my paintings become abstract or representational. I love colour. I paint how I have seen things on the day stretching a small pallet by experimenting with colour tones and values and building with layers of glazes and textured matt surfaces to create depth and contrast."
Jane Lion paintings are undertaken in both oil and acrylic.
