'The Moon and my Fire'. The paintings share the same sense of intimacy and atmosphere. Painted in the blue-silver tones of moonlight the we are invited into a still and silent night-time country scene. The tracery of winter trees surrounds a small house and a small human figure makes his way across silver fields to the light in the window of a small house. The only other light is the north star shining bright overhead. We cannot see the full moon but we know that it is there from the way that everything is illuminated.
Outram's use of a limited colour palette of blues and silver adds to the sense of atmosphere in the painting.
