David Smith shows us a simple scene in 'Fishing Nets and Poles, Moray'. Traditionally built fishermen's cottages line the beach, their backs against the prevailing wind, and the fishing nets are spread to dry ' waiting for the next time they are needed.
David Smith uses a palette of natural colours inspired by the plants and coastline of the East of Scotland. There is a simplicity and warmth in the colours and lines of his paintings.
David Smith contemporary paintings are now in many private art collections. His art works are also in collections of the Glasgow Caledonian University and House of Lords, London.
In addition to Red Rag Scottish Art Gallery David Smith has exhibited at other leading Scottish Art Galleries including the annual art exhibitions of the RGI, RSW and PAI. Each painting at Red Rag is sourced from the David Smith artist studio and like all Red Rag Scottish art and Contemporary art it can be shipped worldwide.
