on the edge of a cliff. The cottages are typical of many old buildings found in rural Ireland, abandoned in favour of more modern bungalows. Perhaps to Cormac O'Leary the ruins are 'on the edge' both literally and metaphorically.
Painted in acrylic the image is strong with bold colours and clear brushstrokes. The cottages are starting to merge with the colour of the landscape under the weight of dark hills beyond and a strong blue sky.
