'Bailey's Lane, St Ives shows the gable ends of two Cornish cottages at the end of a dimly-lit lane. Orchard has created interest and texture through his description of the light and shade created by the walls in the lane.
His paintings have regularly featured at the Royal Academy Summer shows. In 2007 he was appointed a member of the Royal Society of British Artists.
