beloved Isle of Bute. Wolfson has chosen a viewpoint for her painting that shows the headland with tightly packed fishermen's cottages and the view across the water to the beach at Ettrick Bay with the wreck of an abandoned fishing boat.
A Scottish colourist in the tradition of Cadell, Fergusson, Hunter and Peploe Alma Wolfson sees Landscape in strong definite colours and these appear regularly in her contemporary art. In 'Port Banantyne the colours used are strong and dark. Clouds seem to be moving in and the water of the Bay darkens.
